Advanced Practice Provider – Orthopedic Trauma

Cape Fear Valley Health, an 8-hospital regional health system serving more than one million patients annually, is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join our Orthopedic Trauma Service. Position Overview
This inpatient-focused position plays a key role in the daily operations of our Orthopedic Trauma program. The APP will manage consults, coordinate patient care, and provide comprehensive inpatient management for orthopedic trauma patients. This role offers meaningful autonomy, strong leadership involvement, and daily collaboration with two highly experienced Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons.
Schedule & Call
Monday–Friday, daytime schedule
4 call nights per month
Inpatient-only position
Role Responsibilities
Perform inpatient orthopedic trauma evaluations and consults
Manage daily patient care, documentation, and follow-up
Collaborate closely with orthopedic trauma surgeons to support optimal patient outcomes
Participate in care coordination with nursing, case management, and interdisciplinary teams
Serve in a leadership capacity within the service line, with significant autonomy and decision-making support
Qualifications
Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or eligibility) in North Carolina
Experience in Orthopedics, Trauma, Acute Care, or related specialty preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment
